Meetings in Iowa
This month I’m holding meetings with Iowans
in 36 counties. I look forward to these meetings to hear directly from Iowans and to have the kind of dialogue that’s so important to the process of representative government. I like to say this process is a two-way street. I go to people to answer questions and listen to comments, and they come out and participate in the discussion.
I started the meetings last Thursday and traveled to five counties. I took questions and comments about immigration, Social Security, government regulations, controversial recess appointments, tax rates, health care, the federal budget, energy and renewable energy incentives, the farm bill, the Keystone pipeline, and partisanship. I’ll be back on the road this week with meetings in 15 counties, including Wright, Humboldt, Kossuth, Winnebago, Hancock, Franklin, Cerro Gordo, Worth, Mitchell, Winneshiek, Fayette, Buchanan, Delaware, Benton and Tama.
The week after that, I’ll be in Appanoose, Monroe, Lucas, Wayne, Decatur, Ringgold, Union, Clarke, Madison, Adair, Guthrie, Dallas, Greene, Boone, Story and Marshall counties. The Senate is scheduled to reconvene on Monday, January 23, for the second session of the 112th Congress.
In addition to regular, face-to-face meetings in Iowa and with Iowans in Washington when the Senate is in session, I respond to every letter, email and phone call from Iowans. I work to communicate via Facebook, Twitter and at
http://grassley.senate.gov.
Please contact me with your questions and comments. I want to keep in touch with you.
