$187,500 to University of Iowa from U.S. Department of Health and Human Services

WASHINGTON –Chuck Grassley today said that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded a $187,500 competitive grant to the University of Iowa.

The university will use the money from the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research to help fund research on oral diseases and disorders.

Each year, thousands of local Iowa organizations, colleges and universities, individuals and state agencies apply for competitive grants from the federal government.  The funding is then awarded based on each local organization or individual’s ability to meet criteria set by the federal entity.
