$251,907 to the Des Moines Municipal Housing Agency from HUD

WASHINGTON — Senator Chuck Grassley today said that the Des Moines Municipal Housing Agency will receive a $251,907 grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The funding comes from the Designated Housing Program.

"These funds will help provide decent, safe housing options for disabled Des Moines residents," Grassley said.

According to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Designated Housing Program assists non-elderly disabled families and enables public housing agencies to provide sufficient alternative resources to meet the housing needs of non-elderly disabled families who would have been housed if occupancy in designated public housing projects or buildings were not restricted to elderly households through the approval of a Designated Housing Plan.
