Assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency

? Sen. Chuck Grassley announced today that the Federal Emergency Management Agency is awarding $446,284 to 12 Iowa fire departments from the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.

"Iowa's local firefighters help to make our communities safer. Because of the important role they play, it is important that they have the resources to get the proper equipment and training," Grassley said. "This funding will help make sure that these local firefighters have access to quality training and the personal protective equipment they need."
