WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley announced today that the U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded grants to five Iowa airports.
“These grants will improve the quality of life for both rural areas and urban communities by providing important economic development opportunities as well as improving safety and service provided at local airports across
Iowa ,” Grassley said.
The U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded funds to facilitate various airport improvement projects, as described below.
· $119,852 to the Ottumwa Airport Commission to rehabilitate a runway
· $111,240 to Keokuk to update the airport master plan to analyze changes at the airport and identify future growth requirements
· $85,500 to the Southeast Iowa Regional Airport Authority in
Burlington to update the airport master plan to analyze changes at the airport and identify future growth requirements
· $431,579 to the Clinton Airport Commission to rehabilitate a runway
· $120,951 to
Muscatine to acquire snow removal equipment
