The law, which has become the government's most effective tool against health care fraud, was strengthened in 1986 by legislation sponsored by Grassley. Since then, recoveries to the U.S. Treasury have topped $10 billion, and over $6 billion comes from Grassley's whistleblower provisions.
Grassley announced his plans for a new congressional review in a speech he gave this afternoon at the 6th Annual National Congress on Health Care Compliance. The full text of his prepared remarks follows here.
