WASHINGTON – Two years after Hamas terrorists carried out a brutal attack against Israel, Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) joined Sens. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa), John Fetterman (D-Pa.) and all Senate Republicans in a bipartisan resolution condemning Iran-backed Hamas terrorists and supporting an outcome to the war that ensures the forever survival of Israel.

The senators called for the release of all remaining hostages, including the remains of two United States citizens, and voiced support for the complete denial of Hamas’s ability to reconstitute in the region.

“The October 7th terrorist attack against Israel was the single deadliest day for Jews since the Holocaust. It was shocking and disgusting. Senate Republicans are sending a clear message that the United States will continue to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Israel, especially as antisemitism continues to rise across the globe,” Grassley said.

“Two years ago today, I awoke in the Middle East to horrific news – Israel was under attack by Iran-backed Hamas and Americans had been killed and taken hostage,” Ernst said. “I immediately traveled into Israel to stand with our ally against Iran-backed terror. Since then, I traveled to the region seven times and met with our Middle East partners to bring our hostages home and end the war. Now that President Trump has restored American leadership on the world stage, I have renewed optimism and will continue to support his peace through strength vision, so another October 7 never happens.”

Additional cosponsors include Sens.
