While the risk of being infected with coronavirus in Iowa is still low, it’s important to take preventive actions. These include practicing good hygiene, washing your hands regularly, covering your mouth when you cough with your elbow or a tissue, avoiding touching high-contact surfaces, disinfecting surfaces like work computers regularly, and limiting contact with others if you’re feeling sick. WASHINGTON – Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) will hold town meetings in Hamilton County on Tuesday, March 17, Kossuth and Boone counties on Wednesday, March 18 and Grundy County on Thursday, March 19 as a part of his annual 99 county meetings.
“Representative government is a two-way street. I’m one half of the process and the people of Iowa are the other half. You can’t have representative government without dialogue between elected officials and the people we represent. I appreciate the opportunity to hold town meetings, answer questions and take comments from Iowans,” Grassley said.
Grassley is in his 40th year of holding meetings in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties. Grassley has held at least one meeting in every county, every year since he was first elected to serve in the U.S. Senate. He takes and answers questions on any subject raised.
Grassley will be available for 15 minutes after each meeting to answer questions from local reporters. These town meetings are open to the public and media. Details for the upcoming meetings follow.
