Grassley: More than $1.3 Million for two Iowa airports from the Federal Aviation Administration


  

           

WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley announced today that the Federal Aviation Administration has awarded grants to two Iowa airports totaling $1,353,912.


 

            “These grants will improve safety and service provided at the Clarinda and

Des Moines airports. It will improve the quality of life for both rural areas and urban communities as well as provide important economic development opportunities,” Grassley said.


 

The Federal Aviation Administration has awarded funds to facilitate various airport improvement projects, as described below.

 

·        $1,279,188 to the Des Moines International Airport to construct a runway.

·        $74,724 to Schenck Field in Clarinda to update the airport master plan so they can analyze changes at the airport and identify future growth requirements.
