WASHINGTON – Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), co-founder and co-chair of the Senate Caucus on Foster Youth, presented Chelsey’s Dream Foundation with the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute’s (CCAI) Angels in Adoption award. Anamosa’s Chuck and Carol Bildstein founded the non-profit to provide financial and emotional support to adoptive families.

“I was honored to nominate Chuck and Carol for their work to carry out their daughter’s final wish. This family has changed countless lives for children and parents,” Grassley said. “Chelsey’s Dream Foundation is highly deserving of the 2024 Angels in Adoption award, and I look forward to seeing its many accomplishments still to come.”

Chelsey’s Dream Foundation is named after Chuck and Carol’s daughter, who passed away from cancer in 2014. Chelsey lived a generous life; her dream was to help families with their adoption expenses. The Bildsteins’ Iowa-based non-profit carries out Chelsey’s aspirations and champions her legacy. It manages fundraisers and grants, pairs families with donors and engages with like-minded organizations.
