Here is information about Senator Grassley’s schedule this week.  The Senate is in session.  
 
Senator Grassley has met or will meet with Iowans in Washington, D.C., from the Iowa Pork Producers, the United Spinal Association, the Citizen’s Climate Lobby, RESULTS, the United States Junior Chamber of Commerce, the Alliance for Childhood Cancer, Both Ends Burning, the American Foundry Society, the International Dairy Foods Association, the National Association of Secondary School Principals, the National Association of Broadcasters, the Medical Library Association, and President Sally Mason of the University of Iowa.
 
Senator Grassley has met or will meet with Iowa families from Donahue, Waterloo, Osceola, Greene, Bettendorf, West Des Moines, Marion, Iowa City, and Plainfield.

Senator Grassley will meet with Iowa students visiting Washington, D.C.  Jiwei Sun of Hempstead High School in Dubuque and Sienna Schaeffer of Dallas Center-Grimes Community High School were named U.S. Presidential Scholars from Iowa by the White House Commission on Presidential Scholars.  Connor Ties of Cedar Rapids was selected to represent Iowa at the Washington Youth Summit on the Environment at George Mason University.
 
Senator Grassley has been or will be a guest on public affairs programs hosted by Scott Voorhees on KFAB in Omaha, Bob Leonard on KNIA/KRLS in Knoxville/Pella, Jim Fisher on WOC in Davenport, Trent Rice on KASI in Ames, and Gary Edwards on KXEL in Waterloo.

On Tuesday, June 24, at 10 a.m. (ET), Senator Grassley participated in a Finance Committee hearing on “Less Student Debt from the Start:  What Role Should the Tax System Play?”  

On Tuesday, June 24, at 10:30 a.m. (ET), Senator Grassley participated in a Judiciary Committee hearing to consider the nominations of Pamela Harris to be United States Circuit Judge for the Fourth Circuit, Pamela Pepper to be United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, Brenda K. Sannes to be United States District Judge for the Northern District of New York, Patricia M. McCarthy to be a Judge of the United States Court of Federal Claims, and Jeri Kaylene Somers, to be a Judge of the United States Court of Federal Claims.

On Wednesday, June 25, at 10 a.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will participate in a Judiciary Committee hearing on “The Voting Rights Amendment Act, S. 1945:  Updating the Voting Rights Act in Response to Shelby County v. Holder.”

On Wednesday, June 25, at 2 p.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will meet with the Congolese Ambassador Faida M. Mitifu to discuss adoptions from the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

On Thursday, June 26, at 9:30 a.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will participate in the weekly executive business meeting of the Senate Judiciary Committee.  The committee may consider S. 2454, the Satellite Television Access Reauthorization Act of 2014, sponsored by Grassley and Senator Patrick Leahy and S. 517, the Unlocking Consumer Choice and Wireless Competition Act, sponsored by Senators Leahy, Grassley, Sheldon Whitehouse, Orrin Hatch, Amy Klobuchar, Mike Lee, Al Franken, and John Thune.  The committee may also consider S.J. Res. 19, a joint resolution proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States relating to contributions and expenditures intended to affect elections sponsored by Senators Whitehouse, Klobuchar, Franken, Tom Udall, Dianne Feinstein, Chuck Schumer, Dick Durbin, Chris Coons, Richard Blumenthal, and Mazie Hirono.

On Thursday, June 26, at 10 a.m. (ET), Senator Grassley will participate in an Open Executive Session of the Senate Finance Committee to consider a bill entitled, “The Preserving American’s Transit and Highways Act.”
