WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley said today that “it’s welcome news that crop losses from flooding in 2008 will finally be addressed by SURE,” the Supplemental Revenue Assistance Payments Program administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
According to agency officials, the regulation for the SURE program is on now on public display at the Federal Register. It will be published on December 28, but is currently effective. Sign up for crop losses incurred in 2008 will begin on January 4, 2010 at local Farm Service Agency offices. Payments will begin soon after sign up.
