BUTLER COUNTY, IOWA – U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) welcomed Steve Doocy from Fox & Friends for a walk and talk around his New Hartford farm. On their morning stroll, Grassley and Doocy discussed Grassley’s farming operation, his active social media presence and love for Iowa, as well as Republicans’ One Big Beautiful Bill and Grassley’s time in public service.
“Washington is an island surrounded by reality. This is real America,” Grassley said.

On #CornWatch and #SoybeanWatch:
“I try to tell people, as much as I can, about the two percent of Americans that grow the food for the other 98 percent. I have what you call #CornWatch and #SoybeanWatch, where, starting in April through October harvest, I give updates on the crops in Iowa.”
On the One Big Beautiful Bill:
“[The One Big Beautiful Bill] is a good thing because if we don’t pass it, we’d automatically have the biggest tax increase in the history of the country – that’d be about $4.7 trillion.”
“It’s good because it helps working Americans, because there’s not going to be any tax on tips or tax on overtime. Seniors are going to get some help with an increased tax deduction, and it’s good because it saves a lot of money. We’ve got a deficit, and we’ve got to get it under control.”
On Iowa:
“[When I’m in Washington], I miss the broad space and dirt under your feet. You know, out of 435 congressional districts, there’s probably only 60 that have dirt in their district. The rest of it’s cement. Getting out here in the real world, it’s pretty good.”
