WASHINGTON – According to a new study, Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa ranks fourth of the more than five hundred current members of Congress by number of town hall meetings held since 2015. By this measure, Grassley is one of the most accessible members of either party or chamber of Congress.

“Representative government is a two-way street. I’m one half of the process and the people of Iowa are the other half. You can’t have representative government without dialogue between elected officials and the people we represent,” Grassley said. “I appreciate the opportunity to hold town meetings, answer questions and take comments.”

Grassley holds at least one meeting in each of Iowa’s 99 counties every year to hear concerns and answer questions on any subject in a free-flowing dialogue with constituents. Grassley holds these meetings in a variety of formats to ensure that a broad cross-section of Iowans can participate, including offices, schools, churches, town halls, factory floors and other places of business. Grassley has held a meeting in every county, every year since he was first elected to serve in the U.S. Senate. His question-and-answer sessions are open topic and cover whatever subjects those attending choose to raise.
