“I’ve met with Iowans in every county, every year I’ve represented Iowa in the United States Senate. It’s this exchange of ideas that gives me greater insight directly from Iowans that I can take to Washington with me,” Grassley said. “Holding a meeting in each of our 99 counties gives me the opportunity to have an open and honest dialogue with the people I serve in the U.S. Senate.”
Grassley’s meetings will take him to the counties of Adams, Audubon, Black Hawk, Bremer, Buchanan, Butler, Cass, Cerro Gordo, Chickasaw, Crawford, Fayette, Floyd, Franklin, Fremont, Grundy, Hancock, Harrison, Howard, Kossuth, Mills, Mitchell, Monona, Montgomery, Page, Polk, Pottawattamie, Ringgold, Shelby, Taylor, Winnebago, Winneshiek, Worth and Wright.
Grassley will hold town hall meetings in Allison, Audubon, Bedford, Charles City, Charter Oak, Clarion, Clermont, Greenfield, Grundy Center, Glenwood, Hampton, Jesup, Lime Springs, Manly, Massena, Mount Ayr, Nashua, Onawa, Prescott, Riceville, Sidney, Stanton, Titonka and Waverly.
He will tour businesses and meet with employees at Athena GTX and Principal Financial Group in Des Moines and Krysilis in Forest City.
He will meet with students at CAM Elementary in Massena, Garner-Hayfield High School in Garner, Luther College in Decorah, Shelby County Catholic Schools in Harlan and West Harrison Community Schools in Mondamin.
In addition, he will speak with the Young Businessman Breakfast Club in West Des Moines, the Black Hawk County Young Professionals in Waterloo, the Council Bluffs Rotary Club in Council Bluffs, and the Iowa Chinese in Agriculture in Urbandale. He will also participate in a Des Moines Tweetup in Des Moines.
Senator Grassley will participate in a healthcare forum for Divided We Fail, an initiative sponsored by the AARP, the National Federation of Independent Businesses, the Service Employees International Union and the Business Roundtable, in Mason City. The forum will help Grassley continue gathering information from Iowans on healthcare reform which is currently being developed by Congress. He has discussed health care at meetings throughout the state and has asked for comments through his YouTube website.
Grassley will also have the honor of presenting a Purple Heart to Rosie Youngblut, the widow of the late Richard Youngblut, in Jesup. Mr. Youngblut was wounded while serving his country during the Korean War.
He will visit the Shenandoah VA Clinic in Shenandoah, and visit with Korean War Veterans in Waterloo.
