WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today said that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded three grants totaling $849,653 to the state of Iowa and Iowa organizations.
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will distribute the money as shown below.
• $499,653 to the State of Iowa from the Administration on Aging for options counseling
• $250,000 to Meliora Partners, Inc., in Marshalltown from the Office of Community Services for training and technical assistance
• $100,000 to Hawkeye Valley Area Agency on Aging, Inc., in Waterloo from the Administration on Aging for senior Medicare patrol expansion
Each year, thousands of local Iowa organizations, colleges and universities, individuals and state agencies apply for competitive grants from the federal government.
