Nearly $6.6 Million to Iowa from U.S. Department of Health and Human Services


WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded a total of $6,593,691 to Iowa.

 

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services will distribute the money as shown below.

 

·        Foundation 2, Inc. in Cedar Rapids will receive $85,300 to help pay for a project titled, "Basic Center Program."

·        Linn County Public Health in Cedar Rapids will receive $167,933 to help pay for a project titled, "Strengthening Communities Fund – State, Local, & Tribal Government Capacity Building Program."

·        Youth Emergency Services and Shelter of Iowa in Des Moines will receive $85,000 to help pay for a project titled, "Basic Center Program."

·        University of Iowa in Iowa City will receive $471,521 to help pay for a project titled, "A collaborative model of mental health care for older Iowans."

·        University of Iowa in Iowa City will receive $3,875,441 from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases for a project titled, "Clinical Islet Transplantation: Data Coordinating Center."

·        University of Iowa in Iowa City will receive $250,000 to help pay for a project titled, "Strengthening Communities Fund – State, Local, & Tribal Government Capacity Building Program."

·        University of Iowa in Iowa City will receive $898,496 from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences to help pay for a project titled, "Fine-Scale Recombination Rate Variation Within and Between Drosophila Species."

·        Big Brothers Big Sisters of Siouxland in Sioux City will receive $100,000 to help pay for a project titled, "Mentoring Children of Prisoners Program."

·        Highway 63 Gateway Community Development Corporation in Waterloo will receive $660,000 for an urban and rural economic development project.
