WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley said today that Coralville received a $7,158,520 grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce's Economic Development Administration.
"Coralville has worked hard to get its economy back on track after last year's flooding," Grassley said. "These funds should help improve the rail corridor and the Coralville economy."
Coralville will use the money to help improve flood protection for the rail corridor and prevent future damages to area businesses, which were severely impacted by last years flooding.
The Economic Development Administration serves as a venture capital resource to meet the economic development needs of distressed communities throughout the United States through the promotion of innovation and competitiveness and preparing regions for growth and success in the global economy.
