WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley announced today that the U.S. Department of Energy has awarded the Iowa Department of Human Rights a grant of $8,578,634.
These funds for program year 2009 will be used to pay for weatherization assistance for low income people in Iowa.
The Department of Energy’s Weatherization Assistance Program reduces energy costs for low-income households by increasing the energy efficiency of their homes while ensuring their health and safety.
“It’s important to look at what each of us can do to conserve and use energy wisely,” Grassley said.
