WASHINGTON- Senator Chuck Grassley today said that the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Office of Rural Development has awarded a $100,000 competitive grant to Iowa Onsite Waste Water Association in Clive through the Technical Assistance and Training Grant program.
The association will use the funds to develop and deliver a training program for the operation and maintenance of proprietary equipment in onsite wastewater systems.
“These funds will help train individuals who operate, install and maintain onsite wastewater technology by ensuring proper wastewater management,” Grassley said.
Each year, thousands of local Iowa organizations, colleges and universities, individuals and state agencies apply for competitive grants and loans from the federal government. The funding is then awarded based on each local organization or individual’s ability to meet criteria set by the federal entity.
