$100,000 to Iowa Utilities Board


WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley said today that the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Administration has awarded a $100,000 grant to the Iowa Utilities Board. 

 

According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, the funds will be used in collaboration with Common Ground Iowa to conduct a targeted educational campaign and host an excavation safety summit.

 

According to the Department of Transportation, the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Administration works to protect the American public and the environment by ensuring the safe and secure movement of hazardous materials to industry and consumers by all transportation modes, including the nation's pipelines. The administration was created in 2004.
