WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today said that the U.S. Department of Justice's Office of Violence Against Women has awarded a $1,482,096 grant to the Iowa Department of Justice in Des Moines through the STOP Violence Against Women Formula Grant Program.
"These funds will help improve victim safety and hold criminals accountable for their crimes against women," Grassley said.
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, the STOP Violence Against Women Formula Grant Program encourages the development and implementation of effective, victim-centered law enforcement, prosecution, and court strategies to address violent crimes against women and the development and enhancement of victim services in cases involving violent crimes against women.
