WASHINGTON - Senator Chuck Grassley today said that the National Science Foundation has awarded a $149,544 competitive grant to Vision-1 in Huxley through the Small Business Innovation Research program.
Vision-1 will use the money to help pay for a research project titled, “SBIR Phase I: Method and Means for Collecting and Analyzing Customer Service Performance Data.”
According to the National Science Foundation, the Small Business Innovation Research program provides funding to eligible small businesses to support high quality projects on important scientific, engineering, or science/engineering education problems and opportunities that could lead to significant commercial and public benefit if the research is successful.
Each year, thousands of local Iowa organizations, colleges and universities, individuals and state agencies apply for competitive grants from the federal government. The funding is then awarded based on each local organization or individual’s ability to meet criteria set by the federal entity.
