$300,000 to Northeast Iowa Community College

WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today said that the U.S. Department of Education has awarded $300,000 in congressionally directed spending to Northeast Iowa Community College.

“As the U.S. continually looks to expand sources of renewable energy to reduce the demand on foreign oil, it’s important that the workforce to maintain that technology is in place,” Grassley said. “This program will be a great opportunity for Iowans to get involved with this new field.”

The Northeast Iowa Community College will use the funds to help pay for a training program in renewable energy technology such as wind turbine repair and maintenance and chemical technology.
