$315,000 to Marshalltown from DOT

WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley announced today that the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Transit Administration has awarded $315,000 to Marshalltown Municipal Transit.

The local transit authority will use the federal dollars to purchase a 30ft. replacement vehicle that will be accessible to persons with disabilities.

Each year, thousands of local Iowa organizations, colleges and universities, individuals and state agencies apply for competitive grants from the federal government.  The funding is then awarded based on each local organization or individual’s ability to meet criteria set by the federal entity administering the funds.
