$552,732 to Iowa Universities from the National Science Foundation


WASHINGTON -- Senator Chuck Grassley today said that Iowa State University and the University of Iowa have received competitive grants totaling $552,732 from the National Science Foundation. 

 

Iowa State University received $327,530 to fund the project entitled, “Mechanics of Multi-responsive Ceramics for Electrical Capacitors with High power/Energy density,” and $100,000 to fund the project entitled, “EAGER: Haptics for Large Scale Virtual Environments to Assess Assembly Tasks.”

 

The University of Iowa received $125,202 to fund the project entitled, “TC: EAGER: Collaborative Research: Parallel Automated Reasoning.”

 

Each year, thousands of local Iowa organizations, colleges and universities, individuals and state agencies apply for competitive grants and loans from the federal government.  The funding is then awarded based on each local organization or individual’s ability to meet criteria set by the federal entity administering the funds.
