WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today said that the U.S. Department of Education has released $571,000 in congressionally directed funds to Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge and Upper Iowa University in Fayette. Congress appropriated the funds through the 2009 Omnibus Appropriations Act.
"These funds will help Iowa Central Community College and Upper Iowa University provide students with updated technology, training and equipment," Grassley said.
The U.S. Department of Education will distribute the money as shown below.
· Iowa Central Community College, $333,000, the money will help grow and modernize the technology and training provided at the Iowa Central Advanced Manufacturing Training Center to better train and prepare student to meet the needs of advanced manufacturers in a changing and global environment.
· Upper Iowa University, $238,000, the money will help purchase equipment and technology for the University e-Center.
