$609,079 to Iowa Airports


  

            WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley announced today that the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration has awarded grants totaling $609,079 to eight Iowa airports.

 

            “These grants will provide important economic development opportunities for these Iowa communities as they improve the safety and service provided at local airports,” Grassley said.

 

The Federal Aviation Administration has awarded funds to facilitate various airport improvement projects, as described below.

 

v Audubon Airport Authority will receive $47,500 to update the Airport Layout Plan necessary to adequately plan airport development.

v Carroll will receive $60,000 to construct a new partial parallel taxiway to improve the safety and efficiency of surface movement of aircraft.

v Cherokee Aviation Authority will receive $34,438 to remove obstructions which will provide a clear airspace for safe navigation in and around the airport.

v Davenport will receive $80,750 to update the Airport Master Plan necessary to adequately plan airport development.

v Sioux Gateway Airport/Col. Bud Day Field will receive $239,291 to rehabilitate an apron.

v Webster City Municipal will receive $93,100 to rehabilitate an access road which provides airport users safe and convenient access to the airport terminal area.

v West Union will receive $28,500 to update the Airport Master Plan necessary to adequately plan airport development.

v Winterset – Madison County Airport Authority will receive $38,000 to update the Airport Master Plan necessary to adequately plan airport development.
