$652,671 to Iowa Universities for Research


  

WASHINGTON - Senator Chuck Grassley announced today that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services awarded two grants totaling $652,671 to Iowa State University and the University of Iowa.

 

The funds will be distributed as shown below.

 

o   Iowa State University received a $315,171 grant from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences to help fund a pharmacology, physiology and biological chemistry research project titled, "Coarse-Grained Models of Proteins."

 

o   University of Iowa received a $337,500 grant from the National Institute on Drug Abuse to help fund a drug abuse and addiction research project titled, "Opioid Mechanisms of Analgesia."
