WASHINGTON - Senator Chuck Grassley today said that Iowa State has received two competitive grants totaling $707,729 from the National Science Foundation.
Iowa State will use $450,000 to fund the project entitled, “AF: Small: Algorithmic Foundations of Phylogenetic Tree Reconciliation,” and $257,729 to fund the project entitled, “SHF: Small: Collaborative Research: Balancing Expressiveness and Modular Reasoning for Aspect-oriented Programming.”
Each year, thousands of local Iowa organizations, colleges and universities, individuals and state agencies apply for competitive grants and loans from the federal government. The funding is then awarded based on each local organization or individual’s ability to meet criteria set by the federal entity.
