$755,987 to Iowa from FEMA

WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley announced today that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is releasing grant guidance and making allocations of funds totaling $755,987 to Iowa through the fiscal 2009 Driver’s License Security Grant Program (formerly known as the REAL ID Grant Program).

“These funds will help Iowa ensure the accuracy of government issued documents,” Grassley said. “This should go a long way towards protecting Iowans against fraud and help our homeland security.”

Iowa will use the funds to prevent terrorism, reduce fraud and improve the reliability and accuracy of identification documents issued by the state government.
