Immediately following the statement, Grassley will reintroduce legislation to establish Farm and Ranch Risk Management (FAARM) accounts, a tax-deferred savings account, to help farmers manage the high and lows of farm income.
Grassley's statement is part of a series of measures he is taking to highlight National Ag Week. On Monday, Grassley held a hearing as chairman of the International Trade Subcommittee to investigate agricultural trade negotiations with China and the European Union. On Thursday night, Grassley will discuss agriculture and field questions from farmers during the monthly broadcast of his television program "Ask Your Senator: A LIVE Town Meeting."
The only working family farmer in U.S. Senate, Grassley works to protect the interests of family farmers through his positions on the Finance and Agriculture Committees. For more information about Grassley's initiatives, please contact Scott Stanzel at (202)224-6197.
