Sen. Chuck Grassley made the following statement after Sen. Orrin Hatch, Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, committed to holding a mark-up on the Class Action Fairness Act of 2003 in the next couple of weeks. Grassley is the lead co-sponsor on the bill along with Sen. Herb Kohl, of Wisconsin, Sen. Tom Carper, of Delaware, and Hatch.
"The class action system is chock-full of problems. Sen. Hatch's commitment to moving this bill forward will help curb class action lawsuits while preserving them as an important tool in our judicial system that brings representation to the unrepresented."
