Comment on US DOT Ruling for Burlington Air Service

Sen. Chuck Grassley today issued the following comment in response to news that the US Department of Transportation prohibited Corporate Airlines from suspending Trans World Express service in Burlington for 30 days beyond the end of its 90-day notice period while the US DOT reviews proposals for replacement carriers.

"This is great news for Burlington and Southeast Iowa. Air service is vital to the local economy and today's action by the US DOT is a big step forward in retaining air service. I will continue to work on maintaining permanent air service for Southeast Iowa."
