Sen. Chuck Grassley today made the following comment on a U.S. district court judge ruling that the Obama Administration is unconstitutionally spending federal money on Obamacare without approval from Congress.
“The Constitution provides for three co-equal branches of government. The court decision affirms the role of the legislative branch. The executive branch can’t spend taxpayer money without an express appropriation from the legislative branch. Disagreeing with Congress doesn’t give the White House the authority to circumvent Congress. The White House needs to follow the law and abide by the Constitution, whether the subject is Obamacare or anything else.”
