Disaster Declaration for Minnesota Affects Emmet and Kossuth Counties


WASHINGTON — Senator Chuck Grassley received information from the U.S. Small Business Administration for Iowans affected by the September 22, 2010 through September 23, 2010 severe storms and flooding that occurred in parts of Iowa, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

 

The Small Business Administration has issued a disaster declaration for the state of Minnesota.  Under this declaration, the contiguous counties of Emmet and Kossuth in Iowa are also eligible for assistance.  The Small Business Administration offers disaster assistance to businesses, nonprofit organizations, homeowners and renters to repair or replace disaster-damaged real estate, business contents and personal property.

 

Individuals and businesses may obtain information on loan applications by calling the Small Business Administration’s Customer Service Center at 800-659-2955 (800-877-8339 for people with speech or hearing disabilities), Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT or by sending an e-mail to disastercustomerservice@sba.gov. Business loan applications can also be downloaded from the Small Business Administration website at www.sba.gov. Completed applications should be returned to a Small Business Administration center or mailed to U.S. Small Business Administration, Processing and Disbursement Center, 14925 Kingsport Road, Fort Worth, TX 76155.

 

Those affected by the disaster may apply for disaster loans from the Small Business Administration’s secure website at https://disasterloan.sba.gov/ela/.  The filing deadline to return applications for physical property damage is December 14, 2010. The deadline to return economic injury applications is July 15, 2011.
