Sen. Chuck Grassley today announced that the Senate subcommittee that provides fundingto anti-drug programs has approved his request for federal dollars for two Iowa efforts. TheCommerce, Justice, State, and the Judiciary Appropriations Subcommittee has included $400,700for Iowa, as follows:
 

$178,700 to help complete the Meth-Ed Mobile Learning Center that is being developed inIowa. This will be a computer classroom to teach middle-school students the dangers andnegative consequences of drugs.
 

The bill also includes $222,000 to help the state of Iowa pay for special agents for theDivision of Narcotics Enforcement to work on finding clandestine meth labs in Iowa.
 

Grassley said that "these two statewide initiatives will be particularly helpful to individualcommunities who are struggling to find the resources they need to fight the threat of drugs,especially methamphetamine."
