Grassley: $100,000 to the Community Health Center of Southeastern Iowa

WASHINGTON- Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded a grant of $100,000 to the Community Health Center of Southeastern Iowa in West Burlington.

“Community health centers are important because they provide primary and preventative health care services to medically under-served areas,” Grassley said. “I’m pleased to know that Southeast Iowa residents will benefit from these services.”

Grassley co-sponsored The Health Centers Renewal Act of 2007 which reauthorized the health centers program for another five years and strengthened and expanded health centers in order to care for nearly 30 million patients. Many

Iowa communities have benefitted from the federal investment of health centers, and other communities are looking to start new centers.
