Grassley: $130,000 to Iowa from USDA


WASHINGTON- Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Office of Rural Development has awarded grants totaling $130,000 to Decatur County Development Corporation in Leon, La Porte City and Panora Area Development Group in Panora through the Rural Business Enterprise Grant Program.

 

“These funds are important to the economic welfare of these communities and the residents,” Grassley said.

 

The grant funds from the Office of Rural Development will be distributed as shown below.

 

  • - A $50,000 grant to the Decatur County Development Corporation to establish a revolving loan fund to assist small business start-ups and expansions in Decatur County.
  • - A $45,000 grant to La PorteCity to establish a revolving loan fund to assist businesses in La Porte City.
  • - A $35,000 grant to the Panora Area Development Group to establish a revolving loan fund to assist small business start-ups and expansions in Panora.
