Grassley: $1,575,316 to three Iowa airports from U.S. Department of Transportation


  

           

WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley announced today that the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration has awarded grants to three Iowa airports totaling $1,575,316.


 

            “These grants will improve safety and service provided at the Ankeny, Le Mars and Waterloo airports. It will improve the quality of life for both rural areas and urban communities as well as provide important economic development opportunities,” Grassley said.

 

The Federal Aviation Administration has awarded funds to facilitate various airport improvement projects, as described below.

 

C                     --$572,470 to the Ankeny Regional Airport to rehabilitate a runway

C                     --$261,240 to the Le Mars Municipal Airport to extend a runway

C                     --$523,011 to the Waterloo Regional Airport to rehabilitate an apron

C                     --$218,595 to the Waterloo Regional Airport to update the airport master plan study
