Grassley: $300,063 to Iowa from the U.S. Department of Commerce


  

            WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley announced today that the U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration, has awarded two grants totaling $300,063 to Iowa for disaster recovery.

 

 “These funds should speed up the response and the effectiveness of the flood recovery process, help minimize dislocations due to flooding and help provide economic development in these areas,” Grassley said.

 

The funds have been awarded to help develop an economic recovery strategy focusing on damage assessment and speeding economic recovery efforts to the communities severely by flooding in the Midwest as described below.

 

v Mid-Iowa Development Association Council of Governments in Fort Dodge will receive a $156,000 grant.

v Southwest Iowa Planning Council in Atlantic will receive a $144,063 grant.
