WASHINGTON- Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Office of Rural Development has awarded a $41,250 grant to Central Decatur Community School District in Leon through the Community Facility Grant program.
The funds will be used to install an age-appropriate preschool playground at the elementary school in Leon.
“The development of community facilities is important in rural Iowa. This funding will help Leon update the elementary school’s playground and give parents peace of mind that their children are safe while they play,” Grassley said.
The Community Facility Grant program provides assistance for rural areas and towns in developing essential public community facilities.
