WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley announced today that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency in cooperation with the U.S. Fire Administration has awarded a $62,105 fire prevention and safety grant to the American Red Cross of the Tri-States in Dubuque .
“These funds will help the Dubuque community prevent fires and stay safe in fire emergencies,” Grassley said.
The American Red Cross of the Tri-States will receive funding through the Assistance to Firefighters Fire Prevention and Safety Grant Program. This funding is part of round 10 of the fiscal 2007 Assistance to Firefighters Fire Prevention and Safety Grant Program. The program provides funding that supports projects that enhance the safety of the public and firefighters from fire and related hazards. The primary goal of the program is to target high-risk populations and mitigate high incidences of death and injury.
