Grassley: $6,375 to Iowa from USDA
WASHINGTON — Senator Chuck Grassley said today that the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Office of Rural Development is awarding a $6,375 grant to the Good Neighbor Society in Manchester through the Community Facility Grant program.
The funds will help pay for an emergency wireless disaster preparedness communication system at the Good Neighbor Home. The system will connect emergency personnel, doctors, nurses, and residents.
“With all Iowa has been through this year, it’s vital to have an emergency plan in place,” Grassley said. “This will help improve the overall safety of Good Neighbor Society residents.”
The Community Facility Loan and Grant program assists rural areas and towns in developing essential public community facilities.
