WASHINGTON — Senator Chuck Grassley today said that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has released $67,126 to the Iowa Civil Rights Commission through the Fair Housing Initiatives Program.
"These funds will help make sure that housing in Iowa meets the standards under the Fair Housing Act," Grassley said. "Iowans will be well served through this help from Housing and Urban Development."
The Iowa Civil Rights Commission will use the funds to increase compliance with the Fair Housing Act and equivalent state and local fair housing laws administered by state and local government agencies under the Fair Housing Assistance Program.
