Grassley: $70,000 loan to Iowa from USDA

WASHINGTON — Senator Chuck Grassley said today that the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Office of Rural Development has approved a conditional commitment for a $70,000 guaranteed loan to Regional Water in Avoca through the Water and Waste Disposal Guaranteed Loan program.

The funds will be used to help construct a new storage building. Regional Water provides rural water and wastewater services to nearly 2,300 customers in Audubon, Cass, Harrison, Pottawattamie and Shelby counties.

“Rural water and wastewater services are vital for rural Iowans,” Grassley said.  “This needed facility for Regional Water should help them provide the best service possible to these rural counties.”

The Water and Waste Disposal Guaranteed Loan program assists in developing water and waste disposal systems, including solid waste disposal and storm drainage, in rural areas and towns with a population of 10,000 or less.
