WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley today announced that the U.S. Department of Justice, Office on Violence Against Women has awarded a $82,965 grant to the Iowa Coalition Against Domestic Violence in Des Moines through the Grants to State Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Coalitions Program.
The Iowa Coalition Against Domestic Violence will use the funds to provide technical assistance to member agencies, expand technological capacity for member agencies or the coalition itself, develop or enhance appropriate standards of services for member programs, conduct statewide, regional and/or community based meetings or workshops, bring local programs together to identify gaps in services and coordinate activities, increase representation of underserved populations in coordination activities, engage in activities that promote coalition building at the local and/or state level and coordinate federal, state and/or local law enforcement agencies to develop or enhance strategies to address identified problems.
“These funds will help provide needed resources so the Iowa Coalition Against Domestic Violence can effectively respond and help victims of domestic violence,” Grassley said.
