Town meetings are planned in Boone, Webster, Calhoun, Sac, Woodbury, Plymouth, Cherokee, Buena Vista, Pocahontas, Wright, Butler, Cerro Gordo, Chickasaw and Bremer counties and are open to the public.
The town meetings are intended to be an informational session about the Medicare bill that recently passed Congress. Although, Grassley said that people with other questions or comments were welcome to attend.
Grassley will also visit a Head Start program in Ida County, Dodgden Industries in Humboldt County and Charles City High School in Floyd County .
"People in Washington too easily lose touch with what is going on in the rest of the country. My county visits help me know what Iowans are thinking, and I take that common sense to Washington on their behalf," Grassley said.
Grassley said that he hopes all area residents will attend his meetings. He said that these meetings will be a good opportunity for him to explain what the new Medicare legislation will mean for Iowans. Grassley was the lead Senate negotiator of the bill.
