Grassley Continues Pledge to Visit Iowa's 99 Counties Every Year

Iowa's Senior U.S. Senator Will Meet With Iowans in 17 Counties Next Week

, D.C. - U.S. Sen. Chuck Grassley will hold meetings next week in 17 Iowa counties, including visits to a wind energy farm, a software provider for long-term care facilities, an assisted living center, a youth services facility, in addition to high schools, service clubs, and manufacturing outlets.

From Monday, March 29 to Thursday, April 1, Grassley's schedule will take him to Waterloo, Waverly, Charles City, Mason City, Sheffield, Garner, Algona, Emmetsburg, Pocahontas, Alta, Ida Grove, Wall Lake, Carroll, Audubon, Des Moines, Williamsburg, and Cedar Rapids.

"Meeting with Iowans morning, noon and night like this during breaks in the congressional calendar gives me the opportunity to listen to citizens' concerns face-to-face," said Grassley. "I look forward to hearing from Iowa farmers, students, older citizens, taxpayers, small business owners, teachers, factory laborers, social workers, health care providers, and community leaders during the Easter recess."

Grassley's key assignments on the Senate Agriculture, Finance, Judiciary, and Budget Committees give him a front-row seat at the public policy tables during consideration of issues that are important to Iowans, including education, Social Security, Medicare, tax relief, farm spending, international trade, transportation, national security, illegal drug use, and debt reduction.

As chairman of the Senate Special Committee on Aging, Grassley works to enhance the quality of life for an aging American population, including efforts to improve the quality of nursing home care nationwide and to help working Americans better prepare for their retirement security.

"Without fail, my meetings across the state provide a refreshing dose of Iowa common sense," said Grassley. "This sort of reality check keeps me in touch with my constituents and helps me better fight Washington nonsense."
