WASHINGTON – Senator Chuck Grassley will be in Des Moines on Monday, April 9, to mark the opening of Pioneer’s new research facility and to visit the Regional Child Protection Center and the new Developmental Center at Blank Children’s Hospital.
Grassley will tour the new Pioneer Beaver Creek Facility at 11 a.m., in advance of the 11:45 a.m. ribbon cutting. The location is 8305 NW 62nd Avenue in Johnston. Grassley is available to answer questions from reporters at 12:30 p.m. This new 200,000 square foot facility will house 400 research employees, according to Pioneer, including experts in advanced genetic discovery and breeding, innovative biotechnology and transformation methodologies, and information management.
Grassley will visit Blank Children’s Hospital at 1 p.m. for a meeting at the Regional Child Protection Center, and then begin a tour at the Developmental Center at 1:45 p.m.
